What is the difference between a card present and card not present transaction?
It is whether the cardholder and their card are physically present at the same time when the goods or services are being paid for. Where this is the case, it is known as a card present transaction.
In a card not present transaction, you will not physically be able to see the card as its details are being given to you by the customer. For example, if a customer is buying goods over the internet, they will be keying their card details into a secure payment page.
