The British Retail Consortium

The BRC is an association representing a range of retailers, including the major supermarkets and department stores as well as independents. They offer information, representation, discounted services and consultancy to members.
The British Shops and Stores Association

Aimed at non-food retailers, the BSSA provides its members with advice, discounted rates on services and representation on industry-wide issues.
The UK Cards Association
The UK Cards Association is the leading trade association for the cards industry in the UK. With a membership that includes all major credit, debit and charge card issuers, and card acquiring banks, the role of the Association is both to unify and represent the UK card payments industry.

A website dedicated to helping merchants who may have questions on Chip & PIN.
Business Banking Code
The major UK High Street banks have signed up to a voluntary code on how they will treat their business customers and this includes the acquiring bank relationship with a merchant customer.  To find out more about the business banking code, please follow this link to the APACS website.
